So what is my Kickstarter? It is for a new travel tumbler that the tea and coffee industry desperately needs.
It works like a reverse tea press. Instead of pressing tea down allowing it to continually steep (and ruin the taste), it will pull the tea up inside the lid, outside of the water, stopping the steeping process. This patent pending process, combined with the infuser shape will allow drinking without further contact with the liquid! No more dealing with wet leaves, removing of the infuser or even taking off the lid, just to drink your tea.
It is an all in one package for those who like their tea on the go, at work, or while traveling and still want the best taste to fully enjoy a quality tea or coffee. With this new tumbler you can control the steeping process, no more over steeped bitter tea, just tea goodness. It is an all-encompassing hassle free infusion on the go.
So what are some of the features? Well there will be two openings on the lid, one for drinking and one for pouring in liquid. Like many tea drinkers I like to pour my water over my tea, and this second opening allows me to do just that. And don’t worry this tumbler will be leak free!
Another feature and the main attraction, the pac-man shaped infuser allows liquid to pass through the middle of the infuser when drinking so to not steep the tea further when you drink. With a fine stainless steel mesh this infuser will be able to hold loose leaf tea, rooibos or even coffee grinds without any leaking through. The click in and pop up rod will easily be able to pull and lock the infuser up inside the lid. If you want to steep further, simply press on the rod to release the infuser back into the tumbler. Simple.
But wait there’s more!(I’ve always wanted to say that) The bottom will have a compartment for storage. Simply screw on and off to have a place for extra tea, coffee, sugar, whatever you like!
Right now I have just finished the first prototype of the tumbler.
There’s a lot more work to do to get this up to par but I should have a final product by the beginning of May. At that time I will start my Kickstarter to raise funds for tooling and production. This is where you will be able to get great discounts and cool rewards for your help making this a success.

1. What will this retail for?
The goal is for a retail price between $24.99 to $29.99. However, in one of the kickstarter reward tiers you will be able to get this awesome tumbler for just $20 including shipping!
2. Will it leak?
No!
3. How long will it keep cold/hot?
About 4 hours, though further development may see this time increase.
4. What will it be made of?
Well this is currently under development, but either high quality double walled BPA free plastic or a durable glass with a silicone skirt. Both have pros and cons. Such as cost, ease of cleaning, heat retention, durability, it’s a balancing act that I will know once I get closer to final product.
5. How long before this project is finalized?
My goal is to have a final product done in May. When that is accomplished I will start the Kickstarter and that will last about 30 days to raise funds for final tooling and production. After the successful end of that it will be about another 6 weeks for the first run of production. So my current estimate is July-August for the final product to be in your hands if you back the kickstarter!
