Our Story
We think tea is the best drink in the world. Tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world with water being ranked number one. However, here in America tea is not nearly that popular. We think this is due to us Americans generally being served subpar low quality tea.
We here at The Tea Merchant want to change that. We want to foster an environment where people can learn about and enjoy high quality tea and have all the health benefits that come with it. With a passion for tea and love for travel we opened The Tea Merchant so we could do what we love and love what we do. We think we are very lucky to be able to travel the globe to find the best tea, exotic new blends and the best teaware and share it with the rest of the world.
We have tea from India, Japan, China and Sri Lanka just to name a few, as well as the highest quality handmade ceramics from Taiwan, Handmade Yixing clay teaware from China, and beautiful teaware designed in America. With our humble beginnings as an online presence we hope to grow and bring quality tea and teaware to a city near you!
